This is a love seat, a place for two to sit in, with views to the sunrise and the sunset. There are two niches to lean into and a roof for protection.
The wooden seat is made from one piece of Devon-grown redwood chosen for its durability. It is built into two piers, constructed of insulation blocks, with carved out niches. The piers are lime rendered and lime washed. The roof is made of English oak and covered with small Cornish slates hung by oak pegs on riven oak lathes.
