Bird's Nest |
 |
|
Looking in a hedge recently I remembered the sight of
birds’ eggs in a nest. The colours
and images of my childhood inspired me to create a larger
version that could be looked down into from the tree house.
A song thrush nest, eight times its normal size, is located
in a holly bush.
The inside of the nest is lined with a mud and chaff
daub onto a wickerwork basket construction. The surrounding
materials are coarse grasses and twigs woven round the
basket shape with moss and wool packed in. Inside there
are four turned and painted wooden eggs.
